Rupert the Dinosaur Comes to Tacolneston

On Monday 31st March we had two important visitors to our school.  Their names were Doug Vallgren and Karl Newson.  Doug is the author of Rupert the Dinosaur and Karl is the illustrator.

First Doug told us a bit about why he wrote the book and then he read it to us.  He told us about how animals we have today evolved from dinosaur species.

Karl showed us how he created the pictures for the book and explained how much time it took to do each illustration.

We had a go at drawing our own dinosaurs which were brilliant!!

We had a go at mixing up 2 different animals and created a cird which was a cat mixed with a bird.

After school we had the chance to purchase a signed copy Rupert the Dinosaur.

We had a lovely afternoon and would like to thank Doug and Karl for coming in to see us. We are looking forward to the next book due out later in the year.

Look out for Rupert the Dinosaur
